The price of lithium carbonate has exceeded 150,000 yuan per ton, and the expectation of a "rush for goods" in the lithium battery industry is soaring, with the industrial prosperity continuing to rise.
The momentum of lithium prices is still on the rise. On January 12th, the main lithium carbonate contract continued to surge, with a daily limit-up and closing at 156,060 yuan per ton. The spot and futures prices of lithium carbonate remain linked. Data from "MySteel" shows that on January 12th, the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate was 153,400 yuan per ton, an increase of 13,800 yuan from the previous trading day, once again hitting a new high in nearly a year. "The strong rise in lithium carbonate prices may be related to adjustments in the policy of export tax rebates for lithium batteries." A relevant person told reporters that the reduction in value-added tax export rebate rates for battery products may increase the enthusiasm of downstream lithium battery companies for stocking up, further affecting the already "tight" lithium carbonate market.
