The office of the Ecological Environment Protection Committee of Shijiazhuang City issued an orange alert for severe pollution weather and launched a Level II emergency response.

According to the release from Shijiazhuang, after assessment by the city's Atmospheric Pollution Prevention and Control Service Support Center, the city's meteorological department, and the city's ecological environment department, it is forecasted that the AQI in our city will be over 150 for more than 72 hours in the coming days, meeting the requirements for issuing an orange alert. Approved by the city's Ecological Environment Protection Committee, an orange alert for heavy pollution weather is now issued to the entire city. The level II emergency response for heavy pollution weather will be initiated at 20:00 on January 12, 2026, and the lifting time will be notified separately.
