On December 25, 2025, Lei Ping, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the National Medical Products Administration, visited Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing to conduct research and understand the situation of the hospital's pilot project on the self-development and use of in vitro diagnostic reagents and their clinical transformation. Lei Ping pointed out that the pilot project of self-made reagents is a pioneering work, especially for rare diseases, difficult diseases, and diseases with no effective diagnostic methods, it can provide valuable diagnostic tools, which is of great significance. Peking Union Medical College Hospital should fully leverage the leading role of a high-level hospital, actively carry out research and development and transformation of products urgently needed in clinical practice. The National Medical Products Administration is exploring the use of real-world data on self-made reagents to support the evaluation of product safety and efficacy, combined with clear technical requirements related to product risks, under the premise of ensuring data quality and sufficiency of evidence, to promote the reasonable application of real-world data and meet clinical needs.
