CDC: The positive rate of influenza virus detection in each province is on the decline.
The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has released the national surveillance report on acute respiratory infectious diseases. Samples of respiratory specimens from outpatient influenza-like cases and severe acute respiratory infection cases collected by sentinel hospitals nationwide underwent multiple virus tests. The monitoring results show that influenza virus is the main pathogen detected recently, with the overall influenza activity in China at a moderate level. The positivity rate of influenza virus detection in each province has shown a downward trend this week. The positivity rate of respiratory syncytial virus detection is on the rise. The positivity rate of rhinovirus detection has fluctuated this week. The overall positivity rate of detection for the novel coronavirus and other monitored respiratory pathogens is at a low level. Currently, China is still in the high season for respiratory infectious diseases, with the influenza epidemic at a moderate level and respiratory syncytial virus and rhinovirus also showing some activity. To prevent respiratory infectious disease epidemics, it is recommended that key institutions and places such as childcare facilities, primary and secondary schools, and nursing homes carry out health monitoring, promptly detect and respond to clustered outbreaks, and reduce the impact of epidemics.
