The medium to long-term UK bond yields fell by around 3 basis points, rising and then falling after the release of US GDP and other data.
At the end of the European market on Tuesday, the yield on the 10-year UK government bond fell by 2.8 basis points to 4.508%, hitting a daily low of 4.491% at 20:00 Beijing time and then narrowing the decline. The yield on the 2-year UK bonds dropped by 0.5 basis points to 3.740%, hitting a daily low of 3.716% at 20:00 and quickly rebounding to 3.745% when the US GDP and durable goods order data was released at 21:30. The yield on the 30-year UK government bond fell by 3.4 basis points to 5.238%, while the yield on the 50-year UK bond fell by 2.7 basis points to 4.733%. The spread between the 2-year and 10-year UK government bond yields widened by more than 2.300 basis points, hitting a daily low of +76.559 basis points.
