Today, the State Administration for Market Regulation held a special food safety briefing. Reporters learned from the briefing that since the beginning of this year, the State Administration for Market Regulation has introduced multiple measures to promote the continuous improvement of food safety mechanisms in school campuses. The "Regulations on Supervision and Management of Food Safety Responsibility Implementation in Centralized Dining Units" places stricter requirements on schools compared to other centralized dining units such as government cafeterias, promoting schools to pay more attention to food safety, especially with a significant enhancement of the awareness of school principals as the "primary person responsible". Schools are urged to legally establish and strengthen food safety supervisors and food safety employees, especially for food suppliers, requiring the establishment of a "double food safety supervisor, double food safety employee" system between the school cafeteria and the contracted food service company, effectively preventing individual school cafeterias from transferring management responsibilities through contracting, and firmly eliminating situations of "delegate management through contracting" and "neglect of responsibilities". In addition, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Education, along with three other departments, have issued the "Notice on Regular Inspections of Campus Food Safety and Meal Expenses in the Spring and Autumn Semesters", specifying 7 aspects including meal expense management and meal operation management to be inspected at least once per semester, rigorously inspecting all types of potential problems and taking actions to promptly rectify any identified issues in accordance with the law and regulations.
