Recently, the Office of the State Council's Work Safety Committee conducted interviews with the leaders of 21 city governments and relevant departments in 12 provinces including Shijiazhuang, Chengde, Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province, Datong in Shanxi Province, Ulanqab, Ordos, Alxa League in Inner Mongolia, Shenyang, Anshan, Liaoyang, Huludao, and Yingkou in Liaoning Province, Ningbo in Zhejiang Province, Fuzhou in Jiangxi Province, Weifang in Shandong Province, Xinxiang and Zhoukou in Henan Province, Huaihua in Hunan Province, Qingyuan in Guangdong Province, Chengdu in Sichuan Province, and Qujing in Yunnan Province, due to major accidents that have occurred since the beginning of this year or three major accidents within six months. The interviews required all regions to deeply reflect on and examine the implementation of safety red lines and bottom lines, the principle of "party and government sharing responsibility," and the requirements of "three responsibilities and three musts." They also need to examine the problems in the three-year action plan for cracking down on the root causes of safety production and the full-chain safety governance of key industries. It is important to fully understand and use the criteria for identifying hidden hazards of major accidents, conduct a thorough investigation and governance of major accident hazards, and resolutely prevent the occurrence of major and extremely serious accidents. In regions where there are frequent accidents involving fishing vessels, efforts should be made to strengthen the safety of fishing vessels.
