Zhang Junkuo: The public fiscal investment in children's development needs to be further strengthened.

At the 9th International Symposium on Child Development held today, Zhang Junkuo, Chairman of the China Development Research Foundation and former Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, stated that although there is strong evidence from domestic research and practice, including the pilot projects in Ludu, that investing in child development yields high returns, and that society is increasingly reaching a consensus on the importance of child development, the priority of child development in national development still needs further promotion and enhancement. He pointed out that the current special policy system for child development in China needs further improvement, and the public financial investment needs further strengthening. In the process of modernizing China, the concept of prioritizing children should be implemented in the formulation and implementation of various policies, early planning for the next stage of child development should be formulated, and financial support should be provided.
