Apple announced that Jennifer Newstead will assume the position of the company's General Counsel on March 1, 2026, succeeding Kate Adams who has held the position since 2017. Newstead will join Apple as Senior Vice President in January next year, reporting to CEO Cook and becoming a member of Apple's executive team. Prior to Adams' retirement (expected by the end of 2026), she will temporarily oversee the government affairs team; afterwards, the team will be integrated into the General Counsel's office and led by Newstead. Additionally, Vice President Lisa Jackson, responsible for environmental, policy, and social initiatives affairs, will retire at the end of January 2026. The environmental affairs and social initiatives team will report to Apple's Chief Operating Officer, Sabih Khan.
