The greenhouse gas report shows that the total amount of man-made carbon emissions in China has significantly decreased.
On December 3, the China Meteorological Administration released the "China Greenhouse Gas Bulletin." The bulletin shows that by 2024, the total artificial carbon emissions in China increased by about 0.6% compared to 2023, a significant decrease from the growth rate in 2023 and lower than the global increase of 0.8%. This indicates that China's active efforts to reduce carbon emissions have achieved tangible results. Zeng Qin, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the China Meteorological Administration, said that this is the 14th consecutive year that China has released information on greenhouse gas monitoring. Currently, China has established a national atmospheric background greenhouse gas monitoring network consisting of one global background station included in the World Meteorological Organization's Global Atmosphere Watch Program - the Waliguan National Atmospheric Background Station, 18 regional background stations, and more than 120 greenhouse gas observation stations.
