Two departments: optimize the environment for elderly-friendly and barrier-free travel for silver-haired tourists.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Civil Aviation Administration of China have issued the "Action Plan for the Integrated Development of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Industry". The plan proposes to optimize the barrier-free travel environment for elderly travelers. It guides airlines and airports to cater to the aviation travel needs of elderly passengers, upgrade elderly-friendly services, strengthen full-process service guarantees, and encourage the introduction of services such as elderly passenger companions, rest areas, elderly meals onboard, and seats reserved for elderly passengers. It also calls for the preparation of guidelines for the construction of barrier-free environments in airport passenger terminals, accelerating the renovation of airport facilities for the elderly, and further optimizing the barrier-free travel environment.
