On November 18, the 20th China Economic Forum Parallel Forum on the Development of Science and Finance Innovation in the Greater Bay Area by 2025 was held in Nansha, Guangzhou. Sun Yong, member of the Nansha District Committee and Executive Deputy District Chief, stated that Nansha is vigorously building China's southern ocean science and technology innovation center, aiming to construct a global ocean science and technology innovation source and a national demonstration base for the marine science and technology industry. He introduced that China's first self-designed and constructed ocean drilling ship "Dream" has been commissioned, and the first national major science and technology infrastructure integrating sea and land - the Cold Spring Ecosystem Research facility has commenced construction, bringing together 22 new research and development institutions such as the Southern Maritime Science and Engineering Provincial Laboratory. Nansha has also established 198 provincial-level and above engineering and technology research centers, 34 enterprise technology innovation centers, and successfully held 3 Greater Bay Area Science Forums. The overall innovation vitality continues to burst forth with a strong momentum.
