As the largest aerospace event in the Middle East, the 2025 Dubai Airshow will be held from November 17 to 21. On the opening day, the C919 passenger jet produced by Chinese aircraft manufacturer Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) performed a flight demonstration in Dubai, expanding its influence in the global aerospace industry. According to Reuters on November 17 local time, as China's first independently developed mainline passenger aircraft, the C919 made its appearance in Dubai with a white fuselage and blue-green paint details, showcasing the "C919" logo on the fuselage to dignitaries from various countries at the airshow. The report stated that this display, although brief, was of great significance, demonstrating an important strategic project for China. Currently, Boeing and Airbus are facing delivery delays, while COMAC is seeking to establish its presence in the market. Since the C919 was officially initiated about 17 years ago, COMAC has been hoping to challenge Boeing, Airbus, and Brazil's regional aircraft manufacturer Embraer. Facing new competitors on the "race track", Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope welcomed the arrival of COMAC, but also vowed to maintain a competitive advantage through continuous innovation. "Competition is good for the entire industry, and it's good for Boeing, it makes all of us better," she told Reuters. Airbus Commercial Aircraft CEO Christian Scherer told Reuters, "This is not a threat, but a competitor, it is a reality."
