Tianqi Lithium referred to SQM's "public-private partnership" plan as bypassing the rights and interests of its subsidiary's shareholders at the shareholder meeting.
Since last year, the "public-private partnership" promoted by the operating body of the world's largest salt lake, Atacama Salt Flat in Chile, has attracted attention. The focus is on the minority shareholder Tianqi Lithium Industries, which believes that the matter did not go through the proper approval process at a special shareholders' meeting, infringing on the rights of its subsidiary shareholders. As a result, Tianqi Lithium Industries has filed a lawsuit with the local court in Chile. On the evening of November 12, there was progress in the matter as the local court in Chile rejected the lawsuit filed by Tianqi Lithium Industries' subsidiary. Tianqi Lithium Industries stated that they will comprehensively evaluate within the limits of the law and do not rule out taking further actions under the premise of ensuring the protection of the interests of relevant shareholders.
