Cai Fang: Promoting artificial intelligence to empower basic pension insurance system and silver economy.

On November 13, Cai Fang, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and former vice president, stated in a keynote speech at the Taihu World Cultural Forum that in the process of modernization in China, there has always been an aging population with characteristics of "aging before becoming wealthy", and there is a huge demand for elderly care insurance, elderly services, and elderly-related industries. Cai Fang suggested that institutional building should ensure that the elderly have financial support and companionship. He recommended reallocating resources through reforms to enhance productivity. Furthermore, he proposed using artificial intelligence to empower the basic pension system and the silver economy, which can increase caregiving productivity, expand resources for the elderly, improve sharing levels, and allow technological advancements to benefit the elderly.
