Being replaced or new opportunity? Liu Qiangdong appeared at the Wuzhen Summit after many years to talk about the new future of smart living.
On the morning of November 7th, 2025, the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit opened, and Liu Qiangdong, the founder and chairman of JD Group, delivered a speech. He pointed out that the high logistics costs in Chinese society lead to wasted resources, and reducing logistics costs can increase company profits, promote technological progress and consumer growth, and form a virtuous economic cycle. Liu Qiangdong believes that technological progress in the next five years may exceed that of the past ten years. JD Logistics has reduced the cost of automated equipment through technological accumulation and supply chain restructuring, achieving 90% robot replacement in sorting centers, and plans to build the world's first fully unmanned distribution station in April next year. He emphasized that the era of robots is not the end of human work, but a liberation from heavy labor, creating new demands such as humanities and artistic exploration. Liu Qiangdong also proposed that the government could regulate technological monopoly companies by imposing a "monopoly tax" to provide better public products and services for society. He believes that in the age of digital intelligence, there is no need to worry about job displacement and fairness issues, as there will still be plenty of things to do in the future.
