Poll: Over 70% of Canadians willing to trade "economic slowdown" for "reducing dependence on the United States"
The survey results released by the Canadian polling firm Abacus Data on the 4th showed that over 70% of Canadians are willing to trade "slower economic growth" for "reduced dependence on the United States." Abacus Data conducted a public opinion survey of about 3,000 Canadian adults from October 24th to 29th. When asked the question "Are you willing to trade slower economic growth for greater independence from the United States," 71% of respondents agreed, 19% were opposed to varying degrees, and another 10% were unsure.
