German bank economist Joerg Kraemer pointed out in a research report that European Central Bank President Lagarde signaled at a press conference that key interest rates will not be lowered in the coming months. Kraemer stated that Lagarde reiterated that the current interest rate level is in a "comfort zone", further strengthening the reasons for maintaining interest rate stability. Despite noting that economic risks have decreased due to trade compromises and a ceasefire in the Middle East, Lagarde avoided describing overall economic risks as tilted to the upside. Kraemer said, "We continue to expect the European Central Bank to keep the deposit rate at 2% at least until the end of next year."
