According to media reports citing informed sources, Santander Bank (SAN.US) has already cut approximately 320 positions in the United States, accounting for about 2.7% of its total employees in the country, to strengthen its focus on its digital business. Santander Bank stated: "We are developing our business in the United States, investing in digital capabilities and streamlining processes to meet the evolving needs of customers." "These measures have led to an update in our staffing model, affecting a small portion of our colleagues in our branches."
Santander Bank's main retail markets include Spain, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. However, at the same time, the bank has been working on enhancing its digital business in markets such as the United States where it does not have a strong presence.
