On February 22nd, the Chairman of Giant Network Group (002558.SZ), Shi Yuzhu, proposed during an internal company meeting that artificial intelligence (AI) has become a new field equally important as the gaming business within the company. He foresees this year as a key period for rapid development of AI technology and stated that Giant Network Group has achieved remarkable results in this field, expressing anticipation to further seize opportunities.
Shi Yuzhu stated during the internal meeting, "We used to only have one gaming business, but now we have added a second major business, which is artificial intelligence." Reflecting on the company's early investment in AI that did not immediately yield results (including the acquisition of Israeli AI gaming company Playtika), he highlighted a turning point with the open-sourcing of technology by several large American companies.
He further explained, "The open-sourcing by AI giants has provided domestic AI companies with an equal starting point. With sufficient attention and investment, we have achieved remarkable results in the field of AI. Our gaming big model has been developed and evaluated to be of high quality. Currently, we may be at the forefront domestically."
Shi Yuzhu expressed high hopes for the company's future in the AI field, stating, "This year may very well witness the explosive growth of artificial intelligence. As the era of AI approaches, we have made a good start in this field and hope to seize the opportunity to develop this sector."
Recently, Giant Network Group announced the completion of the filing for its game AI big model, GiantGPT, making it the first enterprise in the gaming industry to publicly confirm this achievement, marking significant progress in the field of artificial intelligence. GiantGPT is a specialized big model for the gaming industry, trained using high-quality proprietary data and public internet data, optimized for foundational capabilities such as character portrayal, situational reasoning, and long-term memory. Its performance in Giant's own gaming business scenarios significantly outperforms both domestic and foreign closed-source general big models.
Since establishing an AI lab at the end of 2022, Giant Network Group launched the "Game + AI" efficiency enhancement platform in 2023, covering various aspects of game development, operation, and distribution. Leveraging various AIGC technologies, the company has established an industrial production pipeline covering multiple domains such as images, videos, audios, codes, texts, models, and strategies.
Looking ahead to 2024, Giant Network Group plans to introduce AI new gameplay powered by GiantGPT in its mobile game "Space Kill," which is expected to provide players with unprecedented experiences. Additionally, the newly developed AI NPCs (Non-Player Characters) have been tested in some core products and are expected to be widely applied in more products this year.
