On November 16, 2023, LENOVO GROUP announced its financial performance for the second quarter of the 2023/24 fiscal year, ending on September 30, 2023. The overall revenue reached 104.4 billion RMB, showing consecutive quarter-on-quarter growth. The gross profit margin increased to 17.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching a second-quarter historical high. Non-PC business accounted for over 40% of the total, showing an increase of nearly 3 percentage points compared to the previous year. Yang Yuanqing, the Chairman and CEO of LENOVO GROUP, stated that in the previous quarter, multiple challenges, such as a slowdown in the global economic growth, slow platform migration process, and shortage of key components supply, inevitably impacted the overall revenue and profitability of the ISG segment. However, strong performance was observed in areas such as storage, software, services, high-performance computing, and edge computing. Particularly in the storage business, it not only achieved a record high revenue but also became the world's third-largest storage device supplier. The development of hybrid artificial intelligence will drive the global ICT infrastructure market to become more diversified. Public clouds, private clouds, and local data centers, cloud computing, and edge computing, the balance between AI processing power and traditional processing power will gradually be achieved. Yang Yuanqing expressed that Lenovo has the most diverse range of infrastructure products and solutions and has full confidence in seizing the growth opportunities. Lenovo will continue to strengthen its product portfolio and competitiveness, enhance operational efficiency, ensure a swift return to profitability, and restore growth. Furthermore, both edge business and software business revenue achieved historical quarterly records, showing year-on-year growth for ten and four consecutive quarters, respectively. The Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is investing in the development of differentiated technology solutions in areas such as general servers, hybrid clouds, high-performance computing, data management, artificial intelligence, and edge computing. For example, Lenovo recently launched a new edge server that uses differentiated technology, reducing power consumption by 32%. Based on global revenue market share, Lenovo is currently the third-largest storage supplier globally, with a significant improvement in ranking compared to a year ago. In the price range of $25,000 and below in the storage market, the Infrastructure Solutions Group has maintained the global number one position for four consecutive quarters. Additionally, LENOVO GROUP has achieved double-digit revenue growth in the high-performance computing field, with year-on-year growth maintained for five consecutive quarters.
