From January to August 2026, China's foreign exchange market recorded a cumulative turnover of 207.46 trillion yuan (equivalent to 30.21 trillion US dollars).
On September 24, statistics from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange showed that in August 2026, China's foreign exchange market (excluding foreign currency pair market, the same below) recorded a total turnover of 26.28 trillion yuan (equivalent to 3.87 trillion US dollars). Among this, the bank-to-customer market recorded a turnover of 4.30 trillion yuan (equivalent to 0.63 trillion US dollars), and the interbank market recorded a turnover of 21.99 trillion yuan (equivalent to 3.24 trillion US dollars); the spot market recorded a cumulative turnover of 7.66 trillion yuan (equivalent to 1.13 trillion US dollars), and the derivatives market recorded a cumulative turnover of 18.62 trillion yuan (equivalent to 2.74 trillion US dollars).
