National Energy Administration data shows that in August 2026, power trading institutions across the country completed 754.8 billion kWh of electricity transactions, up 15.2% year-on-year. By trading scope, intra-provincial transactions totaled 563.8 billion kWh, up 16.0% year-on-year; inter-provincial and cross-regional transactions totaled 191 billion kWh, up 11.4% year-on-year. By trading product, medium- and long-term transactions totaled 681.9 billion kWh; spot transactions totaled 72.9 billion kWh. Green power transactions totaled 26.4 billion kWh, up 7.7% year-on-year. Market-based agency power purchases by grid enterprises totaled 78.2 billion kWh. From January to August 2026, power trading institutions across the country completed a cumulative 5,180 billion kWh of electricity transactions, up 19.2% year-on-year. By trading scope, intra-provincial transactions totaled 4,026.4 billion kWh, up 21.5% year-on-year; inter-provincial and cross-regional transactions totaled 1,153.6 billion kWh, up 12.1% year-on-year. By trading product, medium- and long-term transactions totaled 4,617.3 billion kWh; spot transactions totaled 562.7 billion kWh.
