On the news front, Alebund Pharmaceuticals recently announced that its Investigational New Drug (IND) application for AP308 (a first-in-class engineered recombinant IgA protease) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the company will initiate a first-in-human clinical trial of AP308 for the treatment of IgA nephropathy (IgAN). To the company's knowledge, AP308 is the first IgA protease-class IgAN drug candidate approved to enter clinical trials. The company plans to initiate the clinical trial in the near term. According to Alebund Pharmaceuticals' 2026 interim report, as of the end of the reporting period, the company's cash and time deposits totaled approximately RMB 1.393 billion, with ample capital reserves sufficient to support AP301 registration filing and commercialization preparation, global clinical advancement of AP306, and the simultaneous development of frontier pipelines including AP303 and AP308. Preclinical research findings related to AP308 have been published in *Kidney International*, validating its therapeutic potential. Previously, Alebund Pharmaceuticals collaborated with Peking University First Hospital (PKUFH) to develop IgA protease as a potential therapy for IgAN, and entered into a licensing agreement with PKUFH.
