On the news front, on September 21, according to Antengene's official WeChat account, the company announced today that the first patient has been dosed in China in the pivotal Phase III CLINCH-3 study of ATG-022, a CLDN18.2-targeting antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), for the treatment of CLDN18.2-positive advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma. Previously, ATG-022 had been granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation by the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). This designation accelerated the company's efficient communication with the CDE and laid an important foundation for the rapid advancement of the CLINCH-3 study. The study is currently the first to be initiated in China and has completed dosing of the first patient. The company plans to expand it into a multi-regional clinical trial (MRCT), aiming to provide solid clinical evidence for ATG-022 monotherapy in treating CLDN18.2-positive advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma to support its future marketing approval applications.
