The National Medical Products Administration and the General Administration of Customs issued an announcement on matters related to launching the pilot work on electronic customs clearance for imported drugs at the Beijing port. In order to further advance the digitalization of government services and improve the efficiency and facilitation of customs clearance services for imported drugs (including medicinal materials), it has been decided after study that, as of the date of issuance of this announcement, the pilot work on electronic customs clearance for imported drugs (including medicinal materials) will be launched at the Beijing port. Electronic customs clearance documents for imported drugs (including medicinal materials) shall have the same legal effect as paper documents. During the pilot period, the original paper documents shall remain valid, and enterprises may use them normally in accordance with relevant regulations.
