The Coca-Cola Company (KO.US) said on Tuesday that it plans to invest US$10 billion in U.S. infrastructure between 2026 and 2030. It is understood that the United States is one of its largest markets, and the move is aimed at meeting growing demand for its products. According to the company, the investment will be used for U.S. facilities and logistics infrastructure, including new construction and expansion of manufacturing and bottling plants, additional distribution centers and warehousing capacity, office and campus facilities, and related production and distribution infrastructure. The total US$10 billion investment includes both new projects and previously announced projects, the latter involving California, Colorado, Alabama, New York, and other states. Specific sites to be upgraded include: the bottling and distribution facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California; the bottling plant in Colorado Springs, Colorado; the manufacturing plant in Indianapolis; the Coca-Cola United campus in Birmingham, Alabama; the Fairlife plant in Coopersville, Michigan; and a distribution center in Orlando. John Murphy, Chief Financial Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, said that the above US$10 billion figure is on a system-wide basis, not just The Coca-Cola Company's own capital expenditure, but also includes its bottling partners. In July, the company estimated capital expenditure for the current fiscal year at about US$2.2 billion. The company also said that, according to independently conducted research commissioned by it, its U.S. system contributed US$85 billion to U.S. GDP in just one year and supported nearly 1 million jobs. The Coca-Cola Company system includes the company and its bottling partners. The Coca-Cola Company said that the system spends about US$37 billion with U.S. suppliers and, together with The Coca-Cola Foundation and The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, donated US$177 million to community programs. The study is the second of its kind conducted by The Coca-Cola Company, with the first released in September 2023. On the share price front, The Coca-Cola Company has risen more than 28% year to date, ranking 7th among the 30 components of the Dow Jones. By market capitalization, The Coca-Cola Company is the 33rd-largest listed company in the United States, slightly above Carter's Incorporated Caterpillar (CAT.US), Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C Technology (DELL.US), and Merck & Co., Inc. (MRK.US).
