Northeast Pharmaceutical Group (000597.SZ): Empagliflozin Tablets Obtained Drug Registration Certificate

Northeast Pharmaceutical Group (000597.SZ) announced that recently, its wholly-owned subsidiary Northeast Pharmaceutical Group Shenyang First Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. received the Drug Registration Certificate approved and issued by the National Medical Products Administration. The drug is "Empagliflozin Tablets". Empagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption, lowers the renal threshold for glucose, and promotes glucose excretion in urine. Empagliflozin can also reduce sodium reabsorption and increase sodium delivery to the distal tubule. This may affect several physiological functions, including but not limited to increased tubuloglomerular feedback and reduced intraglomerular pressure, reduced cardiac preload and afterload, and downregulated sympathetic nervous activity.
