Some optical communication concept stocks rebounded. As of press time, CREALIGHTS (01191) rose 4.10% to HK$129.6; Zhongji Innolight (03308) rose 2.71% to HK$1,099; XIZHI TECH-P (01879) rose 2.45% to HK$283.8. On the news front, Goldman Sachs significantly raised its demand forecast for high-speed optical modules after visiting 15 optical communication companies in China. Goldman Sachs revised up its 2027/2028 demand forecasts for 800G and above optical modules by 39% and 36%, respectively, to 144 million units and 171 million units. At the same time, the report judged that the price of 1.6T optical modules will remain above US$700, while the price decline for 800G products in 2027 will be only in the single digits. The supporting logic behind this pricing judgment lies in the continued shortage of key components such as DSPs, lasers, and PCBs, as well as the supply chain management strategy of leading manufacturers actively locking in production capacity through prepayments and long-term agreements. Previously, after a series of events and doomsday warnings successively hit the industry, the heads of Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX rarely joined forces to call for slowing the pace of AI development. The market is broadly concerned that short-term expectation changes may affect the valuation rhythm of different segments such as computing power, hardware, and applications. Some analysts also believe that the underlying DRIVE (RSI) behind AI capability improvements is in a dividend release period, and the short-term industry growth logic remains unchanged.
