BUSYMING (01768) rose over 4% in morning trading. As of press time, it was up 4.57% at HK$380, with a turnover of HK$48.0613 million. On the news front, market regulators in multiple regions recently launched special inspections of leading bulk snack retailers, with brands such as Zhao Yiming and Haoxianglai pushed into the spotlight over controversies including "short weights" and non-compliant measurement practices. BUSYMING and peer Wanchen successively issued official announcements on September 7 and strengthened front-end store management to mitigate the negative impact. Daiwa believes the synchronized actions by both parties constitute a timely response and will help consolidate customer trust, which is crucial to the long-term sustainable development of franchisees. Daiwa also noted that it observed BUSYMING and Wanchen accelerated their pace of new store openings in July and August to about 1,200 each per month, while same-store sales growth remained stable during the summer holiday. The bank said that as the comparison base turns higher from the fourth quarter of 2026 to 2027, market attention on pressure on same-store sales growth is rising, with the market awaiting signs of successful category expansion and further optimization of store unit economics.
