On September 3, HKEX announced that it welcomes the issuance of offshore RMB bonds by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, which are expected to be listed on HKEX on September 10. The total issuance scale is 3.7 billion yuan in offshore RMB, including bonds with maturities of 5 years and 10 years, catering to the needs of different investors. The Development Bank of Kazakhstan made its debut in Hong Kong last year with the issuance of dim sum bonds. This transaction is the largest dim sum bond issuance project to date among quasi-sovereign issuers in Central Asia, reflecting the ongoing interest of issuers in the region in the offshore RMB market. Since the beginning of this year, HKEX has welcomed over 180 new bond listings.
