The acceleration of digitalization is driving growth in Hong Kong's entertainment and media industry, with OTT streaming films anticipated to be the fastest-growing sector, boasting a CAGR of 6.8% from 2025 to 2030, outpacing internet advertising (CAGR of 6.5%). The music market is also experiencing growth, supported by local initiatives and the performances of international stars, with a CAGR of 5.8%, reflecting the diversification of the local entertainment industry.
The Hong Kong OTT streaming film market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 6.8%, with revenues increasing from $345 million in 2025 to $479 million by 2030. In a landscape where international streaming platforms coexist with local digital service providers, Hong Kong's OTT market is thriving amidst competition and innovation. Local service providers are effectively scaling up, and while OTT and subscription revenues are growing, profit margins are also continuously improving. As competition intensifies, strategic pricing and exclusive sports content remain critical differentiators to ensure audience engagement.
