HENGAN INT'L (01044) announced its interim results for the six months ending June 30, 2026, reporting revenue of 11.091 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year decrease of 6.1%; profit attributable to equity holders of 1.254 billion yuan, down 8.7% year-on-year; and basic earnings per share of 1.104 yuan. A mid-term dividend of 0.70 yuan per share is proposed. During the period, competition in the domestic consumer products market intensified. Faced with a challenging operating environment, Hengan actively captured the upgrading demand for personal care products and opportunities for growth in new retail channels, adhering to a stable pricing strategy, deepening product premiumization, and enhancing omni-channel sales layout while actively addressing supply chain fluctuations, demonstrating strong business resilience and overall performance superior to industry peers. Intense promotional competition in the market has put pressure on sales performance, resulting in a 6.1% year-on-year decline in revenue for the group in the first half of 2026. In the second half of 2026, the operating environment will remain challenging, but continued steady growth in high-end product sales is expected to help enhance profitability. The group will focus on optimizing its omni-channel sales layout, strengthening brand promotion, and appropriately allocating promotional resources to maintain stable revenue for the year. The group is responding to the new consumer model of Wuxi Online Offline Communication Information Technology Co., Ltd. by actively promoting its omni-channel sales strategy. During the period, the group made significant strides in e-commerce and new retail channels, including instant retail and live commerce, broadening its revenue sources. E-commerce and new retail sales revenue grew by 4.6% year-on-year, accounting for 38.3% of total sales (1H 2025: 34.4%). On the other hand, the group actively explored new growth points in traditional channels, with notable sales effectiveness observed in the sanitary products market. Additionally, the group continues to promote product premiumization and enrich its product portfolio to meet consumers' higher demands for product functionality and added value, enhancing its brand image and providing robust support for long-term development. Key premium products, including the "Tianshan Velvet Cotton" sanitary napkin series and the "Xinxiangyin" wet wipes series, maintained strong sales momentum during the period, effectively improving profitability. Moreover, the group's newly launched "Xiao Nuanxin" Eastern cotton sanitary napkin and the "Xiang Ye Er Sheng" high-end tissue series align with the "value consumption" trend, injecting momentum into the group's overall revenue. In retrospect, the decline in raw material prices and the increased proportion of high-end, high-margin products effectively offset the impact of the overall sales decline on gross profit, resulting in an approximately 2.7% year-on-year increase in overall gross profit for the group in the first half of 2026, with the gross profit margin also rising by 3 percentage points year-on-year to about 35.3% (1H 2025: 32.3%). In the second half of 2026, it is anticipated that the group's ability to adapt to supply chain risks will improve, benefiting from stable raw material prices, the scale advantages of its raw material procurement, and the continued growth of high-end, high-margin products, allowing overall profitability to remain robust. During this period, operating profit increased by 12.6% to approximately 1.98 billion yuan (RMB, 1H 2025: 1.757 billion yuan), primarily due to improvements in the group's overall gross profit. Profit attributable to equity holders decreased by approximately 8.7% to around 1.254 billion yuan (1H 2025: 1.373 billion yuan). In the first half of 2026, the group's basic earnings per share were 1.104 yuan (1H 2025: 1.206 yuan).
