On Thursday, the stock price of IREN Ltd (IREN.US) rose, and as of this writing, the stock is up over 6.5%, reported at $46.51. In terms of news, the company previously announced that the first AI cloud computing project built for Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.US) has been completed and officially accepted by Microsoft Corporation. At the same time, IREN has also received the Exemplar Cloud certification from NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US), further validating its AI infrastructures capability to handle high-intensity AI workloads. IREN stated that the recently delivered Horizon 1 project is located in the Childress campus in Texas, USA, and is the first of four AI cloud computing projects that the company plans to deliver to Microsoft Corporation by 2026. Each project has an IT load capacity of 50 megawatts (MW) and utilizes direct chip liquid cooling technology to meet the thermal and energy efficiency requirements of high-performance AI computing. The aforementioned project is part of a five-year cloud services contract announced between IREN and Microsoft Corporation in November 2025, with a total contract value of up to $9.7 billion. The successful acceptance of Horizon 1 by Microsoft Corporation indicates that this large-scale AI cloud service agreement is entering the actual delivery phase. In addition to progress on the Microsoft Corporation project, IREN has also announced that it has received the Exemplar Cloud certification from NVIDIA Corporation. NVIDIA Corporation tested IREN's GB300 NVL72 system deployed in Horizon 1, verifying the platform's capability to run high-demand AI workloads. The GB300 NVL72 is a high-performance computing platform developed by NVIDIA Corporation for large-scale AI training and inference. The receipt of NVIDIA Corporation certification further backs IREN's provision of AI computing power services to major tech companies. As the Microsoft Corporation project enters the delivery phase, IREN is still advancing its large-scale AI cloud infrastructure expansion plan. The companys current goal is to increase the total AI cloud capacity to 480 MW by 2026 and further expand it to 1.2 GW by 2027. In recent years, IREN has continuously expanded its AI data center and computing power business, and the $9.7 billion contract with Microsoft Corporation is one of its important projects for AI cloud business expansion. The completion and acceptance of Horizon 1 by Microsoft Corporation, along with NVIDIA Corporations certification of its GB300 NVL72 deployment, demonstrate that the companys AI infrastructure construction is gradually transitioning from capacity planning to the actual delivery phase, boosting investors' expectations for the subsequent Microsoft Corporation projects and overall growth of the AI cloud business.
