On the news front, the mandatory national standard "Safety Requirements for Autonomous Driving Systems of Intelligent Connected Vehicles" has been officially published and is scheduled to be implemented on July 1, 2027. This standard applies to M-class and N-class vehicles equipped with Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving systems, and does not apply to automatic parking systems. It establishes a safety requirements system from four dimensions: safety assurance throughout the enterprise lifecycle, dynamic driving task execution capability, human-machine interaction notifications, and multi-dimensional testing and inspection, clarifying a unified safety access baseline for autonomous driving products. Huatai pointed out that the Robotaxi right-hand drive market has recently broken the ice, with policies accelerating in synchrony between China and the U.S. The NHTSA is speeding up the commercialization of Robotaxis, while the domestic mandatory national standard is entering the execution preparation stage. Geely, BYD Company Limited, and Chery are among the first batch to pass the system certification. The earlier significant decline in L2 smart driving targets is expected to rebound as industry beta expectations improve.
