SpaceX is planning a major expansion of its Texas data center or the construction of a large AI computing power base.
SpaceX is exploring significantly expanding its data center layout in Texas, including at least one large data center, to further expand its AI computing power infrastructure.
According to media reports citing informed sources, SpaceX is exploring a significant expansion of its data center layout in Texas, USA, including at least one large data center to further expand AI computing power infrastructure.
The report states that this move will further expand the geographic coverage of SpaceX data centers. Currently, the company's main data center is located in the Colossus Park in Memphis, Tennessee. Colossus 1 began operations in July 2024, taking about four months to build; Colossus 2 started construction in March 2025.
Informed sources revealed that SpaceX has surveyed several potential sites in Texas and discussed various expansion plans, including building multiple data centers and transforming existing warehouses into AI computing facilities.
In addition to the expansion plan in Texas, SpaceX has also started construction on a third data center in Memphis. The report states that the company acquired a warehouse in Mississippi with an area of approximately 810,000 square feet in 2025. Furthermore, SpaceX has also sent some data center employees to Florida to carry out related work.
It is worth noting that AI server manufacturer Super Micro Computer, Inc. revealed on Tuesday that the company's order backlog has reached a historic high, with new orders totaling more than $60 billion. Super Micro Computer, Inc. CEO Charles Liang stated in June that the company is collaborating with SpaceX to build another 1 gigawatt (GW) level AI data center, but did not disclose the specific location.
As of now, SpaceX has not responded to media requests for comment on the above report.
