In June, the number of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance cases in Hong Kong increased by 0.1% compared to the previous month. Both low-income and single-parent categories saw a decrease.
As of the end of June, the total number of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance cases received was 194,548, benefiting a total of 256,732 individuals.
On July 17, the Hong Kong Social Welfare Department released the latest data on Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) cases. The data showed that in June 2026, the overall number of CSSA cases increased by 181 compared to May, with a month-on-month increase of 0.1%.
As of the end of June, the total number of CSSA cases was 194,548, with a total of 256,732 beneficiaries.
In terms of classifications, the number of cases in the low-income category decreased by 0.3% to 1,254, while the number of cases in the single-parent category decreased by 0.2% to 17,852. The number of cases in the category of permanent disability and poor health both increased by 0.2%, recording 16,195 and 28,390 cases respectively; the number of cases in the elderly category increased by 0.1% to 111,730. The number of cases in the unemployment category remained stable at 15,184.
