On June 30th, the National Immigration Administration issued an announcement regarding the approval conditions for mainland residents to settle in Hong Kong and Macao. Starting from July 1st, 2026, the approval conditions for mainland residents to settle in Hong Kong and Macao are as follows: 1. Spousal reunification and accompanying children: the applicant has been separated from their spouse in Hong Kong or Macao for at least 3 years; 2. Children joining parents: the applicant is under 18 years old, and both parents are settled in Hong Kong or Macao; 3. Children caring for parents: the applicant is aged between 18 and 59, both parents are settled in Hong Kong or Macao, are over 60 years old with no children in Hong Kong or Macao; 4. Parents joining children: the applicant is over 60 years old with no children in mainland, and has a child settled in Hong Kong or Macao who is at least 18 years old. The public security organs' immigration management departments will process the applications of mainland residents to settle in Hong Kong and Macao in accordance with the settlement quota and approval conditions. For specific information, applicants can contact the immigration management service hotline "12367" or consult the immigration management department of the local public security organs where their permanent residence is located.
