Photovoltaic stocks fell this morning, with several photovoltaic stocks rising in the final trading session yesterday. As of the time of writing, Triumph New Energy (01108) fell by 5.61% to HK$2.69, FLAT GLASS (06865) fell by 3.32% to HK$7.56, XINTE ENERGY (01799) fell by 3.29% to HK$4.41, and XINYI SOLAR (00968) fell by 2.79% to HK$2.44.
On the news front, the sentiment in the photovoltaic sector suddenly reversed in the final trading session yesterday, with A-shares JA Solar Technology and Shanghai Aiko Solar Energy hitting the daily limit up. According to The Paper, the rare surge in this sector may be related to a rumor in the afternoon. There was a rumor circulating online that "next week, it seems that there will be mandatory photovoltaic standards, involving silicon materials, silicon wafers, and modules, which may result in the clearance of about 30% of capacity based on previous estimates." Upon verification with several companies, they all acknowledged the rumor but could not confirm its authenticity at the moment. According to Caixin, after contacting multiple listed companies, the relevant company executives all stated that they "have no idea about the reason".
Sinolink recently pointed out in a research report that the market's expectations for demand have almost reached freezing point. Domestic green electricity direct connection, energy storage, and other models are easing the pressure of photovoltaic integration, while the new policy on distributed energy generation solves the bottleneck of distributed grid connection and opens up space for distributed demand. It is expected that domestic demand is expected to reach a turning point, and it is recommended to pay attention to signals of narrowing peak-valley price differentials and rising electricity prices as demand-side turning points; under the backdrop of global power shortage and controllable energy self-sufficiency, overseas demand remains strong, and there may be unexpected opportunities in both domestic and overseas photovoltaic demand. The "expectation of demand recovery" could easily trigger opportunities in the sector.
