AKESO (09926) opened significantly higher today, rising by 9.23% to HK$129 as of press time, with a trading volume of HK$362 million. On the news front, the phase III HARMONi-6 study of AKESOPD-1/VEGF dual monoclonal antibody ivosidenib combined with chemotherapy as first-line treatment for advanced squamous cell non-small cell lung cancer was presented at the Plenary Session of the ASCO conference. Compared to the combination of pembrolizumab and chemotherapy, the ivosidenib group saw a 34% reduction in the risk of death, with statistically significant overall survival rates of 64.7% vs 48.6%. The HARMONi-6 study included a total of 532 patients, of which approximately 63% had centrally located squamous cell carcinoma, 39% had a PD-L1 TPS <1%, and around 33.8% had multiple site, liver or brain metastases. The core data showed a median overall survival of 27.89 months in the ivosidenib group compared to 23.69 months in the control group, representing an extension of nearly 4 months. The hazard ratio was 0.66 with a p-value of 0.0017, significantly outperforming the pre-specified statistical boundary of 0.0049.
