GENFLEET-B(02595): GFS202A treatment for cachexia in phase I has been selected for preliminary data presentation at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting poster exhibition.
Jin Fang Pharmaceuticals-B (02595) announced that the preliminary Phase I clinical data of GDF15/IL-6 dual antibody GFS202A for the treatment of cancer cachexia has been presented at this year's ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) annual meeting, which took place on May 30th local time. GFS202A is the world's first GDF15/IL-6 dual antibody, and the preliminary Phase I data suggests excellent safety/tolerability in treating cachexia patients, as well as demonstrating excellent efficacy and pharmacokinetic characteristics: at a dose level of 200 mg Q3W, complete and sustained inhibition of GDF15 can be achieved, effectively increasing patient weight and muscle mass.
GENFLEET-B(02595) issued an announcement that GDF15/IL-6 dual antibody GFS202A has preliminary phase I clinical data for the treatment of cancer cachexia, which was presented at the poster session of this year's ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) annual meeting on May 30th. GFS202A is the world's first GDF15/IL-6 dual antibody, and the preliminary phase I data suggests that it has excellent safety/tolerability in treating cancer cachexia patients, as well as showing outstanding efficacy and pharmacokinetic characteristics: at the dosage level of 200 mg Q3W, it can completely and continuously inhibit GDF15 production and effectively increase patient weight and skeletal muscle content.
Cancer cachexia is a complex metabolic syndrome that can produce various wasting symptoms and is common in many chronic diseases. Tumors are an important cause of cancer cachexia, with 30% of cancer deaths related to cancer cachexia. The incidence of cancer cachexia in digestive tumors such as pancreatic cancer exceeds 50%. Currently, the FDA and NMPA have not approved any targeted therapies for the market. Previous studies have shown that abnormal levels of GDF15 and IL-6 are related to the occurrence and development of cancer cachexia, and overseas related monoclonal antibody products have published positive clinical data for the treatment of cancer cachexia or tumors. GFS202A is expected to achieve superior efficacy through dual pathway inhibition of GDF15 and IL-6 beyond monoclonal antibodies.
Dr. Wang Yubo, Chief Medical Officer of Jingfang, said: "GFS202A is the world's first dual antibody product for cancer cachexia to enter the clinical stage. We are pleased that the preliminary research data has shown its potential for treating cancer cachexia patients, including improvements in important indicators such as weight, skeletal muscle, and appetite, as well as alleviating tumor-related inflammation and nutritional depletion. Cancer cachexia severely affects the tolerance and overall survival of patients with chronic diseases such as tumors, and we look forward to this product bringing new support and extending the survival of cancer cachexia patients."
