In April, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 820.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%.
On May 19th, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption for the whole society in April. In April, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 820.5 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year. Looking at electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 11.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 558.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year; among which, the electricity consumption of the industrial sector was 553.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the high-tech equipment manufacturing industry was 105 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 10.1% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 151.7 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year; among which, the electricity consumption of charging and swapping services and internet data services were 13.7 billion and 8.2 billion kilowatt-hours respectively, with growth rates reaching 61.9% and 42.8% respectively. The electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily life was 99.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year. From January to April, the total electricity consumption for the whole society accumulated to 333.45 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.4% year-on-year. Looking at electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 44.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.8% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 215.69 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year; among which, the electricity consumption of the industrial sector was 213.72 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the high-tech and equipment manufacturing industry was 379.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 9.0% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 63.51 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year; among which, the electricity consumption of charging and swapping services and internet data services were 51.3 billion and 31.2 billion kilowatt-hours respectively, with growth rates reaching 55.9% and 44.4% respectively. The electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily life was 49.76 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 3.9% year-on-year.
