On May 19, the Hong Kong Social Welfare Department released the latest figures on cases receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA). The number of cases receiving CSSA in April decreased by 101 compared to March, with a monthly decline rate of 0.1%. As of the end of April, there were a total of 194,448 cases receiving CSSA, benefiting a total of 256,306 people.

In April, the overall number of CSSA cases decreased by 101 compared to March, with a monthly drop of 0.1%. At the end of April, the total number of CSSA cases was 194,448, benefiting a total of 256,306 individuals. Breaking down the cases by category, the number of cases in the Unemployment category decreased by 0.5% to 15,161. The number of cases in the Permanent Disability category decreased by 0.3% to 16,220. The number of cases in the Single Parent category decreased by 0.1% to 17,890. Cases in the Poor Health category and Low-Income category increased by 0.1%, with 28,258 and 1,272 cases respectively. The number of cases in the Elderly category remained stable at 111,703.
