In the first quarter, immigration management agencies nationwide cumulatively inspected 185 million inbound and outbound personnel, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%. Among them, there were 91.66 million mainland residents, 72.49 million Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents, and 21.33 million foreigners, with year-on-year increases of 14.2%, 10.3%, and 22.3% respectively. Visitors entering the country visa-free accounted for 77.9% of all foreign visitors.
In the first quarter, immigration management agencies nationwide inspected a total of 10.98 million modes of transportation (including planes, trains, ships, and vehicles), an 18.9% increase compared to the previous year. They issued 5.01 million ordinary passports, 26.88 million endorsements for mainland residents traveling to Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and 541,000 passes for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents entering the mainland. They also issued 406,000 foreign visa documents.
