On Wednesday, with the sharp drop in international oil prices, airline stocks surged at the opening. Alaska Air Group, Inc. (ALK.US) rose more than 12%, Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV.US) rose more than 10%, American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL.US) rose nearly 9%, and Delta Air Lines, Inc. (DAL.US) rose more than 8%. On the news front, Brent crude oil futures plummeted over 15% to $92.33, while WTI crude oil futures plummeted over 17% to $92.92. Prior to this, US President Trump posted on social media saying, "I agree to suspend bombing and attacking operations against Iran for two weeks."
