The total expenditure and income for the first eleven months of the fiscal year were HK$691.5 billion and HK$654.8 billion, respectively. After taking into account the proceeds from issuing government bonds of HK$148.9 billion and repaying government bonds principal of HK$49.6 billion, a surplus of HK$62.6 billion was recorded. The fiscal reserve stood at HK$716.9 billion on February 28, 2026.
According to the revised budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 announced at the end of February 2026, a surplus of HK$2.9 billion is expected for the current fiscal year, and the fiscal reserve is projected to be HK$657.2 billion by the end of March 2026.
