Macau Legend (01680) announced that it is expected to incur a loss of approximately 1.566 billion Hong Kong dollars for the year ending December 31, 2025, compared to a loss of about 623 million Hong Kong dollars for the year ending December 31, 2024. The increase in loss is mainly attributed to the following reasons: During the reporting period, the company recognized a significant impairment loss of around 1.18 billion Hong Kong dollars, compared to about 376 million Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year. This was mainly due to the non-renewal of the service agreement with Macau Fisherman's Wharf International Investment Limited, resulting in changes in the fair value of the properties, equipment, and leasehold assets operated by the company's subsidiaries Macau Fisherman's Wharf International Investment Limited and Hong Fu Real Estate Limited. As the management does not anticipate renewing the service agreement with Macau Fisherman's Wharf International, a fair value assessment was conducted as of June 30, 2025, resulting in an impairment provision of approximately 1.288 billion Hong Kong dollars to reflect the carrying value of the affected assets. A comprehensive valuation of the properties, equipment, and leasehold assets was conducted on December 31, 2025. The fluctuations in the fair value of these assets during the reporting period and interim period were due to the termination of the service agreement with Macau Fisherman's Wharf. Due to the termination of the service agreement with Macau Fisherman's Wharf, the company recognized a provision of approximately 71 million Hong Kong dollars for employee compensation and benefits (including long-term service awards) during the reporting period.
