Land Registry in Hong Kong: Total value of building sale contracts in February reached HK$62.1 billion, up 119.7% year-on-year.

On March 3rd, the Hong Kong Land Registry released the statistics for the month of February 2026. In February, a total of 7924 contracts for the sale and purchase of all types of buildings were submitted to the Land Registry (an increase of 3.8% from January, and an increase of 84.0% compared to February of the previous year).
When calculated using a twelve-month moving average, the number of building sale and purchase contracts in February was 7251 (an increase of 4.3% from January, and an increase of 25.0% compared to February of the previous year).
The total value of building sale and purchase contracts in February was HK$621 billion (an increase of 8.6% from January, and an increase of 119.7% compared to February of the previous year).
Of the above contracts, residential building sale and purchase contracts accounted for 6669 (an increase of 17.6% from January, and an increase of 108.4% compared to February of the previous year), with a total value of HK$576 billion (an increase of 17.0% from January, and an increase of 150.3% compared to February of the previous year). The statistics for residential building sale and purchase contracts do not include transactions under the Home Ownership Scheme, private sector participation scheme, Tenants Purchase Scheme, unless the units have completed the resale restriction period and price differential compensation has been made.
