According to data from the Statistics and Census Service of Macau, the total number of inbound tourists in January 2026 was 3,647,328, which was roughly the same as the same month last year.
According to data from the Statistics and Census Bureau of Macau, in January 2026, there were a total of 3,647,328 visitor arrivals, which was roughly the same as the same month last year. However, overnight visitors (2,254,699) increased by 4.6% year-on-year, while staying visitors (1,392,629) decreased by 6.6%. The average length of stay for visitors remained at 1.0 day, with the average length of stay for staying visitors (2.3 days) increasing by 0.1 day. In terms of visitor source, mainland Chinese visitors in January decreased by 1.6% year-on-year to 2,705,231, with individual visitors (1,452,011) dropping by 9.6%, mainly due to the elevated base number from the Chinese New Year holiday at the end of January last year. Visitors from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (570,490) decreased by 1.3% compared to the same period last year, while visitors from Taiwan (93,154) increased by 20.7%. There were a total of 278,453 international visitors in January, an increase of 15.5% year-on-year. In terms of the Southeast Asian market, visitors from Malaysia (18,252), Thailand (18,039), and Singapore (10,128) increased by 52.3%, 80.5%, and 28.6% respectively, while visitors from the Philippines (45,425) and Indonesia (16,874) decreased by 6.3% and 21.8% respectively. Visitors from India (10,244) increased by 54.1% year-on-year. Visitors from South Korea (75,198) in Northeast Asia increased by 14.5% year-on-year, while visitors from Japan (11,834) decreased by 1.6%. Among long-haul visitor sources, visitors from the United States (12,948) increased by 4.7% year-on-year.
