This is the second donation within one year by Beike's chairman Peng Yongdong after donating 9 million shares of stock last year. The total amount of two donations completed by the two co-founders of Beike in one year has reached 840 million yuan.
On February 24th, BEKE-W (02423) co-founder, chairman, and CEO Peng Yongdong and co-founder Dan Yigang revealed in an internal company-wide letter that, as Beike and Lianjia approach their 25th anniversary, they will jointly donate 10 million shares of Class A Beike common stock, with the post-tax funds to be used to establish the "Healthy Home Guardian Fund" as a guarantee fund for approximately 500,000 Beike and Lianjia employees and industry service providers. Based on the closing price on February 23rd, the value of this donation is approximately 400 million yuan, and the project will be launched within the year. This is the second donation made by Beike chairman Peng Yongdong within a year, following the donation of 9 million shares of stock last year. The total amount of donations made by the two Beike co-founders within a year now amounts to 840 million yuan. The "Healthy Home Guardian Fund" includes three sub-projects. The "Life Emergency Fund" is used for cases of sudden severe illness diagnosis, with a fast application process that can result in receiving 20,000 yuan within 2 working days once diagnosed. This emergency fund is different from traditional insurance reimbursement models, as it focuses on providing immediate assistance to families in crisis. The other two projects provide protection and support in special circumstances. Families of employees or industry service providers who lose their ability to work or meet certain conditions can receive a one-time "Family Warmth Aid Fund" of 100,000 yuan. Beneficiaries who meet the criteria can also receive a one-time education fund of 20,000 to 100,000 yuan based on the age of their children, to help families through difficult times. The "Family Warmth Aid Fund" and "Children's Education Fund" build on the existing employee benefits at Beike, increasing the total amount of coverage for employees and extending coverage to platform service providers. It is reported that the "Healthy Home Guardian Fund" will benefit more than 500,000 people, including tens of thousands of employees at Beike and Lianjia who have been with the company for at least 6 months, as well as platform service providers who have been with the platform for at least 6 months. This includes brand owners, store owners, brokers, cleaning workers, repair workers, and project managers working with Beike. Those who have been employed for at least 6 months or have been with the platform for at least 6 months are eligible as beneficiaries upon diagnosis of a serious illness on the day of their application. "The fundamental reason for the existence of the platform is to provide customers with better and more trustworthy services and value. Employees and service providers are the key professional carriers who create value for residential services," said Peng Yongdong, Chairman of Beike Group in the letter. "The establishment of the 'Healthy Home Guardian Fund' with Mr. Dan is to do more, to provide more security, so that service providers can protect their families and serve millions of families with confidence on the road that we are fighting together." In December 2025, Peng Yongdong sold 9 million shares of Beike Class A stock held in his personal account for the first time, and donated all the after-tax income. This was Peng Yongdong's first sale of stock since Beike went public in the U.S. in 2020. Prior to this, Peng Yongdong had not sold, transferred, or otherwise disposed of his actual holdings of Beike shares. According to media reports, the first donation by Peng Yongdong was valued at approximately 440 million yuan, with 50% of the funds used for rental assistance for recent graduates and other groups. It is reported that this project will also be launched soon. The other 50% of the funds will be used to improve the health and medical care of residential service providers and their family members. It is evident that the main focus of the donations made by Peng Yongdong and Dan Yigang has been on residential service providers. The direction of their personal contributions also complements the company's internal employee policies, forming a complementary structure of basic security. In 2008, Beike launched the "Green Plan," specifically to assist Beike service providers and their family members with disease protection and support to alleviate the economic pressure caused by major illnesses. By the end of 2025, the "Green Plan" had provided assistance amounting to over 755 million yuan, assisting over 54,000 individuals. A Beijing Lianjia broker applied for assistance for his daughter three times between 2021 and 2023, totaling 1.29 million yuan, which is the highest amount of assistance provided by the Green Plan to date. Beike also has a children's education fund internally, providing education funds from kindergarten to high school for children of employees who have completely lost their ability to work or meet certain conditions, helping them complete their studies.
